Textiles at Castle Rock aims to inspire all of our Year 9 students creatively, allowing them to explore and develop their designing and making skills whilst learning a variety of current textiles techniques.

This year students experience GCSE Textile exam questions where we work on understanding the process of recording our experiments, skills and artists research in textiles sketchbooks in accordance with past paper exam questions. Students learn the A01-A04 assessment objectives and how they can respond to these effectively in preparation for their GCSE course in Year 10.

In the summer term students apply the techniques they have learnt through their experimentation to a final outcome for our Catwalk show, where their hard work will be showcased as it would in industry.
