Student Expectations – What students are expected to do

  • Teachers will set new tasks for you to complete each week.
  • All tasks will be uploaded to OneDrive and can be accessed by clicking the subject links in the home schooling tables below.
  • Students are expected to read the instructions from their teachers carefully, and apply themselves fully, in
order to complete all of the work that has been set.
  • We expect all students to forward completed work to their teachers, so that it can be marked and feedback given for core subjects. Work can be shared with teachers from within OneDrive, emailed to teachers using the school email system (e.g. as an attachment or photo) or delivered to the hand-in-point at the school reception.

Completing work:

Where work has been set using an online toolkit (e.g. Seneca Learning, MyMaths) this work will be completed online.

Seneca Learning - for an explanation of how Seneca works, parents should watch the video below:

MyMaths - is an online learning platform which provides a vast range of lesson and homework tasks proven to raise standards of achievement in maths. Each week your child will be set lessons and homeworks to complete by their maths teacher. Once complete their scores will be saved to a database and their teacher will then be able to see how well they did and leave feedback.

Login details for MyMaths have been sent out in an email to your child's Castle Rock email address. Students can access their email by logging into Office 365 with their school email address and password at https://portal.office.com - student email addresses are in the format of LastnameFirstname@castlerock.leics.sch.uk and passwords are the same as those used to log on to the school computers. Once logged in, open the Outlook app to view email.

Office 365 - students can log into their school Office 365 accounts via a web browser and use the online versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Work can be saved to their individual OneDrive storage area.

More information on Office 365 can be found here.

Microsoft Office 365 productivity software is available FREE to all Castle Rock students. Versions are available for Windows, Apple Mac, iPad/iPhone and Android devices. Installation instructions can be found on our website.
