Helping local causes this Harvest time
During the month of October we have had some very interesting assemblies delivered by Reverend Andrew Rhoades of St David's Church, Broom Leys. St David's Church have asked if our students could kindly bring in one item of non-perishable produce the week commencing Monday 22nd October, so that it can be donated to Kingsgate at Greenhill Community Church.
Kingsgate aims to reach out to the homeless, those who are struggling in today's society or going through hard times, the poor and disadvantaged and those held by addictions. More information can be found on the Greenhill Community Church website.
Non-perishable items include regular household staples such as tins of soup, dried pasta and rice, beans, tinned fruit, tinned vegetables, cereals, jams, ketchup, tinned meat, etc.
We've had a good level of contribution already and look forward to presenting the donations to Reverend Rhoades on Monday 29th October. Students can bring donations in to school right up to the day of collection.
Reverend Andrew Rhoades collected the Harvest contributions on Tuesday 30th October, holding a special assembly for all four student teams. He expressed thanks to all students, parents and staff that had contributed.
