Measures to help improve local traffic issues.
After half-term, Castle Rock will begin to liaise with a national charity called Sustrans. Part of their work involves helping young people throughout the UK to travel actively and safely to school.
Alongside other strategies, we're hoping that this may help to ease the burden that our reliance on cars places upon the bus park and the roads near to Castle Rock High School. Unfortunately, this has been causing considerable disruption to local residents, especially Castle Rock Drive (particularly the Close at the top of the road) and Meadow Lane.
We request that, when dropping off and picking up their child, parents and carers try to use the school bus park in the first instance. Sharing lifts with other people you know may also help to reduce the volume of vehicles around the site.
More information about travelling to and from the school can be found on the Getting to School section of this website.
We hope that by working together with students, parents and the local community, we can relieve the strain on the surrounding area as well as making the school run safer and healthier.
