On Tuesday 9th February, Castle Rock High School is supporting Safer Internet Day 2016.
We will be joining hundreds of other organisations and schools across the UK in celebrating Safer Internet Day and promoting the safe and responsible use of technology.
To celebrate the day, we are aiming to promote safer internet use through the use of videos, quizzes, discussions and activities such as creative slogans to help one another be safe on the internet, with the hashtag used to promote the day #shareaheart.
Safer Internet Day 2016 has the theme ‘Play your part for a better internet’, offering the opportunity to focus on both the creative and positive things that children and young people are doing online, as well as the role that we all play in helping to create a better internet.
The internet, especially social media websites, plays a huge part in many students’ lives and has seen an increase in cyber-bullying as it has grown. Safer Internet Day gives us the opportunity to once again raise students' awareness of keeping safe online and taking an active part in keeping themselves and others safe.
We will be tweeting throughout the day with student's ideas for staying safe online, so keep an eye on our twitter account @castlerockhigh.
