Students learn life-saving resuscitation skills.
On Wednesday 9th October we were delighted to take part in Restart a Heart Day, joining with other schools across the East Midlands to provide as many students as possible with life-saving cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training.
Approximately 20,000 children took part in the event which is a Europe-wide initiative developed by the European Resuscitation Council. It was launched in 2013 to teach members of the public how to help restart the heart of someone who has suffered a cardiac arrest.
Students attended 30 minute sessions throughout the day, where they were shown how to perform CPR using a short video and practical instruction on inflatable mannequins.
Thank you to all of the volunteers from East Midlands Ambulance Service and the Coalville Fire Service that ran the event.
