Information regarding the Trust's application for change to the DfE.
The DfE has approved the Apollo Partnership Trust's application for Age Range Change within the secondary schools of Coalville and its surrounding villages. Approval has also been given for King Edward VII College to join 'Apollo' at some point during this academic year.
In reality, this means that in August 2020 Newbridge High School will retain its Year 9 students into Year 10 and 11, becoming an 11-16 school.
Castle Rock High School and King Edward VII College will merge to provide a similar 11-16 school with a shared sixth form, providing for both schools, set on the current King Edward campus.
A great deal of planning and preparation has already gone into future changes and this will continue as we move towards the changes. As we progress, we will provide regular updates and of course keep parents & carers fully informed of developments and will be asking for your opinions and considerations on specific changes.
This is a much needed educational change as we work together to provide the outstanding education that is the right of our young people.
