As a Leicestershire school we were extremely saddened to hear of the events that occurred near to the King Power Stadium on Saturday 27th October.
Many of our students are passionate Leicester City football fans and a large number of these have spoken to staff regarding the possibility of paying tribute to Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, the Leicester City Football Club chairman.
As you may have read in the press recently, Mr Srivaddhanaprabha was an incredible man who helped bring happiness and pride to every single Leicester city football fan, as well as investing money and resources into our local city.
After speaking to the students, the idea was proposed to hold a "blue" non-uniform day at Castle Rock in honour of Mr Srivaddhanaprabha. We were extremely impressed with the mature manner in which the students approached staff with this idea, and their desire to pay their respects to someone who has influenced them.
We would very much like to support this idea, therefore students are welcome to wear their Leicester City football kits or other "blue" items of clothing this Friday (9th November). Those students not wishing to wear their Leicester City football kit, or blue clothing, may wear school uniform as normal. Please note this is a mark of respect only and no donations are required.
